Awards for acting in the Masquers productions of the last
year. The program was under the direction of Bob H. Riseling
who introduced the casts of the plays.

Lectures On Cancer
Dr. Harwell Davis, Jr., of the
Pathology Department of the Uni¬
versity of Alabama Medical College
and son of President Harwell G.
Davis, President of Howard, ad¬
dressed the Senior Pharmacy De¬
partment recently on tumors. Dr.
Davis illustrated the difference be¬
tween benign and malignant tumors
by use of a projector. Theories of
the development of malignant tu¬
mors were discussed. According to

Distributed June 1
Dub Edwards, editor of the Entre Nous, announces that
the school yearbook will be ready for distribution June 14.
Mr. Edwards further stated that due to the time required
to bind the books seniors will be served on that day. Dub be¬
lieves that the books should be ready to distribute to the
entire student body registration day,
June 14. Those who are eligible and
are not enrolling for the summer
quarter will receive their books by
postpaid mail.
A student to be eligible for a
copy without charges must have
paid student activity fees for
three quarters. The registrar's
office has prepared a list of
students which will be used for
distributing purposes. The stu¬

Gene Ryland was given the award
for the best actor as a result of
his work In the part of John Worth¬
ing in “The Importance of Being
Earnest." Ryland has been active
both in producing and acting in
Masquer productions for two years.
He was connected with the Black-
friars at the University prior to
coming to Howard.
CUudle Bell (Duck) Baker won.
the award for the best bit part
for his acting in “Electra.” Baker
did not speak on the stage but
was a convincing “silent partner”
of Orestes in the play. This was
his first trip across the boards
at Howard.
For her portrayal of “Birdie”
the neurotic wife of Oscar Hub¬
bard in The Little Foxes,” Nancy
Jo Lather won the award for the
best supporting role.
Phella Sue Jones did Imitations
of aMry Jo Brown as “Electra,”
Bernice Donaldson as "Regina” In
“The Little Foxes," and Martha
Martin as Hannah in “The Shining
Hour.”
Billy Jo Ward introduced Miss
America and she presented the
awards. Professor John Newfield
of the Drams department presented
two awards from Mr. William Jor¬
dan to Dorothy Davis and Hamil¬
